Our hostel is located in Minowa. We found out that going to Asakusa area should not be too far. I was determined to go and visit the temple we visited a few years back when we went on a guided tour to Japan.
We planned our route. Go to SkyTree first, then to the temple. Not a difficult task this time as we could keep SkyTree in view whenever we walked. We came across this interesting building on the way there.
And this is how that interesting building looked like from below.
Another interesting structure we saw was this.
This is actually a school, complete with playground (at the back).
And finally, SkyTree.
There is an aquarium there too. But the entrance fees for both were just as costly, so we did not go up to have a view of Tokyo and neither did we pay the seaworld a visit. Instead, both Billie and myself had ice-cream at Cold Stone. We also had this lovely and sweet lady serenading to us as she "cooked" the ice-cream.
After that, we walked to Asakusa. Not far, provided you know the way. Slowly but surely, we found it! The "Lei Men" (that's how I remembered it).
We tried a few of the snacks along the way and they did not tasted as good as they should be and that was due to the cold weather. Everything turned cold easily.
Walk and walk again - this time, back to our hostel. On the way, we stopped by a Yakiniku restaurant. They were not ready so we rushed back to the hostel, and returned without our jackets (didn't want to smell meaty) for the dinner buffet. It was timed, but we could still eat leisurely, and the food was nice.
